You Now Have Better Audio/Videos Functionality In Your Website

Hi OCC Members,

One of the best ways to engage new and regular visitors to your website is with audio and video.  However, one of the biggest barriers that prevents website visitors from being able to listen to audio or watch video on a website is when a plugin is required to be installed in their web browser to listen/watch.  So, we've been working on improvements to our NE1 Web Builder that will enable visitors to expeirence audio and video without a plugin.

Earlier today we distributed the improved audio/video functionality to everyone using the NE1 Website Builder in a Gold, Silver or Bronze account.  If you have a free site, you can get the improved audio/video functionality when you upgrade -

It's important to note... only MP3 audio and MP4 video can be played without a plugin.

P.S. We also increased the size of the audio/video files that can be uploaded using the Asset Manager in NE1 to 40 MB (anything bigger than that can be uploaded using FTP.)

Scheduled Downtime - March 25, 3-6 PM ET

Hi OurChurch.Com Web Administrators,

While attempting to update our Dashboard last week, we encountered a technical problem that removed some administrative data concerning orders and invoices from Wednesday 3/19 to Friday 3/21.  If you placed any orders, paid a renewal fee or created a new site during those days, that information is not in our system at the moment.  As a result, you may have received an invoice for services that you already paid for or you may have created a new account and now can’t access it.

I want to stress that there was no security breach.  No data was stolen.  We have all of the data in our back-ups.

This afternoon beginning around 3 PM ET, we are going to be taking the Dashboard offline so we can get all that data back into the system and up to date.  We estimate this process will take  about 3 hours.  During this time, you will not be able to login to the Dashboard.  Therefore, you will not be able to place orders, make payments or edit websites built with our NE1 Web Builder. All websites will continue to be fully functional to website visitors.

We apologize for the inconvenience.  And we hope to have all of these rectified by 6 PM ET today.

Update Regarding the New Dashboard, Web hosting, & Domain Registration

Happy Thanksgiving (a little early) OurChurch.Com’ers,

We’ve had a busy month here at OurChurch.Com and I have a few new things to announce as well as a few recent events to recap just to be sure everyone is in the know.

1) Move to the new dashboard - Yesterday we completed moving all paying clients from our old admin system to the new Dashboard.  Woohoo!  I hope you all find it more helpful and user-friendly. We would love to hear your honest opinion. Post a comment in our Facebook group.

If you have a free site, we will move your site to the new dashboard at your request. Just go to your MyOCC page and click the "Request New Dashboard" button.

2) New web hosting prices and packages – OurChurch.Com provides a great value to the Christian organizations to whom we serve because unlike other hosting companies, we understand and share your beliefs, we committed to helping you achieve your mission online, and we provide superior support (not outsourced to another country). Our goal is not to be cheapest web hosting option but the best. We do want to continue to be cost competitive, though, so we have reduced the prices of our web hosting packages.  If your account was recently moved to the new dashboard, we gave you a free upgrade at that time so you are already receiving the new price.

Additionally, we eliminated the Starter package to make choosing a hosting package simpler.  If you had a Starter package, when we moved you to the new dashboard we gave you a free upgrade to Bronze, so you now have the Bronze package for the same price you were paying for Starter.

3) Domain registration price change – The costs we pay to register domain names has continued to increase over the last couple of years, so we have had to increase the price of our domain registration service from $14.95 to $19.95.  Can you find a cheaper place to register your domain name? Sure. Ever try to get a domain name moved, settings changed, or billing issue resolved with one of them? Argh! We save you from those hassles and headaches.
